One of Massamba’s big achievements is being a member of Daande Lenol. The band was started by one of Africa’s greatest singers, Baaba Maal in the early 80’s. Massamba is a founding member of the band and has been a driving force ever since. He propells the band with his exquisite talking drum playing. The band developed a distinctive sound fusing traditional African instruments and electronic approaches to create modern music such as mbalax, Afropop and African infused reggae. Today Massamba continues to perform with the band.
